What
Happens During a Balance?
|
|
|
Loose
fitting trousers and the removal of your shoes make your balance
easier. Your TFH therapist will carry out a brief case
history and talk through any relevant issues with you. Your
body, arms and legs will be guided into a series of muscle-testing
positions so the muscle response can be gauged and relevant
corrections made. This can be done standing, lying or
a mixture of both. Often, you will be asked to set yourself
an emotional “goal” to incorporate into the procedure, and
your therapist can guide you with this, although it will not
be a probing or intrusive process.
During your balance you will be asked to feel for yourself
and comment on anything you experience – how a muscle response
feels different to you, or how a correction feels - it
is very much a shared experience rather than something being
“done” to you. The corrections will be gentle, and can
include massage of neurolymphatic points on the body, holding
of points on your head, acupressure holding points on limbs,
tracing of meridians and many others. Sometimes massage
of points can be uncomfortable, but not unbearably painful,
and if something really hurts, ask your therapist to stop!
During your balance, your therapist will be able to show you
some techniques you can use on yourself, and may offer some
meridian-related nutrition advice. They will be very
likely to advise you to drink more pure water too, as
water keeps the energy flowing.

What
Conditions Can Be Helped By TFH?
|
|
|
Many
varied conditions can be improved by TFH. In my experience
as a student and a practitioner, I have seen clients suffering
from IBS, shoulder pain, fear of travel, poor self esteem,
old sports injuries, over-eating problems, anger issues, broken
ribs to name but a few.
A TFH Balance can help you prepare with confidence for a potentially
stressful event, such as an interview or performance. It can
help heal old scars, physical or emotional and to speed up
natural healing processes after illness or surgery. Touch
for Health can help identify the root causes of stress that
in turn causes discomfort and by releasing that stress, allow
you to optimise your life potential.
It is important to remember that in line with our code of ethics,
a kinesiologist will help to balance the body's energy, not
claim to "treat" any specific disease in the way a doctor
would.
