Everyone's hooking into broadband. Excellent. Prices have
fallen, coverage has risen; speed and value is on the increase.
You've signed up, you've had your package delivered - an ADSL
modem, or a wired or wireless router, a couple of micro-filters,
a CD with some software and drivers on it. Now what? Just
follow the instructions supplied. What could be easier?
In the majority of cases, nothing much. Things are not always
so complicated these days where network and Internet are concerned.
It should be a piece of cake. However, in case your situation,
and your requirements, are not so simple, TechScope
can help. You may have a good idea what your requirements
are; but do you know what they should also include?
Yet again, the issue of Internet Security shouldn't be overlooked,
along with the nature of the intended types of Internet usage,
and consideration of those who will be using it - general
browsing, serious research, gaming, email, web-chats, multimedia
- each have their own issues and tweaks which, if implemented,
will increase efficiency, make the most of your PCs power,
and reduce risk to a minimum.
Maybe you have more than one computer. You'd like them connected
together, so you can share files, a printer and/or the internet
connection. Do you stick with wires and hubs, or go wireless?
What are the practicalities, and what are the security implications?
If you need advice and assistance, give us a shout. We will
talk to you and arrange a visit, find out what you'd ideally
prefer, discover how much you're aware of the possibilities
and the pitfalls... and then make it happen - a solution that
suits you.
